AvCo’s founder and CEO, Domenic Crivelli, was born in Caramanico Terme, Provincia Pescara, and lived in Sant'Eufemia a Maiella, Abruzzo, Italy. Driven by his old-world dedication to hard work and quality craftsmanship, he came to western Pennsylvania as a young man and laid the groundwork for a concrete business that's still based on those values today. Since its simple beginnings in 1981, he has grown his company into a regional leader in concrete, custom concrete installation and precast concrete manufacturing.

We go to AvCo for almost everything. With a full-size truck, if you're off a little bit on your yardage, you're stuck with concrete all over the place. If I ask AvCo for eight yards and it turns out we only need seven, they keep that extra yard on the truck. That’s a huge factor in my using them. I can call AvCo on short notice and they'll be there. Even on the same day, and that's unheard of with most concrete companies. In the summer, when working time is critical, AvCo volumetric delivery gives us a lot more leeway than a regular concrete truck. I like the AvCo mix better because it's consistent. I always know what I'm getting, what the working time will be and how the finish will turn out. One of my biggest headaches is waste. With a full-size truck, you lose time and productivity because you have to do so much cleanup."
